The Western Skills Institute is one of the strategies used to meet this goal.

The purpose of the Institute is:

  • To increase the capacity and effectiveness of organizations in their economic development work with low-income women
  • To provide an opportunity for networking, sharing and learning
  • To provide an opportunity to address issues affecting the sector

With the goal of reducing women’s poverty, one of Canadian Women’s Foundation’s key objectives is to build the effectiveness of practitioners of women's community economic development in Canada.

What you can expect at the Institute:

  • Workshops, stimulating panel discussions, networking opportunities
  • Inspiring thought-provoking keynote speakers
  • Opportunities to learn and problem solve with each other
