The National Skills Institute on Teen Healthy Relationship Programming will bring together youth leaders, program representatives, school personnel and policymakers from across the nation to learn about best practices, develop new program strategies, and build knowledge around healthy relationship programs for teens as a violence prevention strategy in Canada.
Some highlights from the three-day institute will include:
The event will host 100 organizations and 50 Youth leaders from organizations across the country that work in the field of healthy relationships, teen violence prevention, youth leadership and gender-based programming.
Together, the diverse communities and groups represented will have an opportunity to build the sector and connect to leaders in order to increase the awareness of the importance of teen healthy relationship programs in violence prevention.
Youth leaders play an integral role in this event. Creating a partnership between youth and program leaders is critical for success and a major part of this learning. Youth delegates will engage in their own peer-led session developed and facilitated by the inspiring leaders of the Youth Advisory Committee. The conclusion of this event will showcase the voice of these youth leaders as they share their learning, programming best practice and recommendations for the future.
Investing in the power of women and the dreams of girls.
