CANADIANS RAISE $2.1 MILLION TO HELP END VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

Money raised will allow the Canadian Women’s Foundation to fund programs to support over 30,000 women and children rebuild their lives following abuse

Toronto (ON) - May 14, 2012 –– Canadians have raised $2.1million in a month-long campaign to end violence against women during the Canadian Women’s Foundation’s annual Shelter from the Storm, executed in partnership with Winners, HomeSense and Rogers Media.

April 16, 2012 – The Canadian Women’s Foundation, in partnership with Winners, HomeSense, and Rogers Media, has launched their annual Shelter from the Storm campaign, which will help more than 30,000 women and children across Canada rebuild their lives after abuse. Shelter from the Storm supports all 450+ shelters for abused women and their children nationwide and violence prevention programs. The campaign runs from April 16 until May 13.

Nancy Baron gives $3.915 million gift to empower Canada's girls

Oct 25, 2011 - The Canadian Women’s Foundation, Canada’s public foundation dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls, is receiving a donation of over  $14 million from celebrated music composer and Order of Canada Member, Ann Southam.  The gift from Southam, who passed away in November 2010 at age 73, is the largest single donation a community-based Canadian women’s organization has ever received from an individual. It will take the Canadian Women’s Foundation work to a new level.
